We Win
It took a trip of about 2876 miles, 6 bottles of wine, a rental car deal, a luxury
box suite and some tailgating magic… but I got to see the Panthers win. It
was so sweet. This is a quick update the BigCat team is doing on the road
so I’ll put in some more details when I get home tomorrow. Here’s the short
• Flew in thusday and drove up the coast in the rain…
• Got up Friday and saw lots of dudes surfing in water that would come
out of the great white cooler. Road on a cable car.
• Saturday went to Napa… drank wine… bought some wine… drank
some more wine.
• Sunday we play football.
When we pulled into the lot at 3COM or Monster Park. They had to change
the name… 3 COM stood for 3 times Carolina Owned Me. Any rate we were
not sure where to park there were no signs of the black and blue so we just
pulled into a spot with not too many cars around. We were styling and
profiling in a Convertible wearing the Peppers Superbowl jersey and my
blue Panthers hat. As we pulled in this guy saw my hat. He gave me a
thumbs up and then the rolled up his sleeve and revealed a Panther Logo
Tattooed on his bicep. It was something I have never seen. Only on the
west coast. I knew we were in the right spot. We pulled up and these guys
were great. Jimmy, the guy with the Tattoo is a real live Cage fighter, and
his buddy Scott is a liquor distributor. The best thing is they are from
California. Panther fans from the beginning. I though the BigCat was a big
fan. I have to down to Jimmy, he literality has the black and blue flowing
through his veins. Leave it to us to find these die hard fans a liquor
distributor and a cage fighter. I knew we were in for a good time.

Scott, our Fresno Liquor distributor, mixed us up a new Special Black and
Blue shot. Half Island Blue Pucker Liquor and Black Vodka. I could not
believe it but he floats them together. A true Panther fan. We will try to find
the Black Vodka. I know Melissa is up for it.
On our march through the parking lot, to the Stick, I stopped in to heckle
some of our host. I came upon a great Latino family who were big time
niner fans. Lots of food and drink and they were giving me a lot of crap. I
wasn’t worried I had Jimmy covering my back. But what made me stop was
one of the ladies was wearing Panther gear in the midst of all that Garnet
and Gold. I went up and told her how beautiful she looked. Then I took her
picture with her 49er husband. I then realized that Jimmy had left me…
Time to go.
We also met a Renaissance man from Gastonia. This guy had traveled all
over the world and had settled in the Silicon Valley. Very interesting dude
except that he call his wife “his old Lady” Brenda got him straight on that
one real quick.
Finally the game. The luxury box was great. All the food I could eat and beer
I could drink. So I was a showed my appreciation by eating everything. The
box was of course full of rich 49er fans. I wanted to wear the overalls but I
did want to my cloths to embarrass the our host. I figured my actions would
take care of that. The first half was awful. They were brutal. The Panthers
and the Niner fans. But by the end of the 3rd quarter we had the box to our
selves. I was hanging out the window screaming on or new West Virginia
University Place Kicker… He is perfect in his profession career.
It was a great time.
