Lots of Stuff to Gripe About
Since the last time I tickled the keys for BigCatTailtaing.com there are a lot of things to gripe about. We
went 2-14 last year. So that lined us up to draft one on greatest college prospects in this century, but he
decided to stay in college and take foundations of fluid engineering. Let me translate... He pissed on us. So
we missed out on Andrew Luck. Then you got that bunch in Washington that just cant get it right. And I'm
not talking about Dan Snyder. Lets not forget market dropping 1000 points in a week. Then there is the
boiling hot summer. Its hot I mean its so hot my Gold Bond has turned to a paste on occasion. The NFL
lockout was painful. And then the US Women' s soccer team lost the world cup. I'm sure no one really cared
about women's soccer and guys that watched it were thinking a boob might pop out or something. NO
Lots of stuff the complain about.
But I'm smiling. Because its back. Through all the crap football has returned. And you know how I know it
returned. I was driving home from work on about July 17. The temp on the Bank of York sign in Lake Wylie
Read 99 degrees. I was listening to sports talk and how the talks around the lockout were stalling and
players were wanting less practice time, owners wanted more money. And as i turned to River Hills
Plantation, I looked to my left on the Lake Wylie Athletic Association Field, I saw them. I squinted because I
was not sure what i was seeing... But they were there 8 year olds running football drills with tackling
dummies in the boiling heat. Full of energy dripping with sweat but they were there. Not because they were
getting paid, (well maybe it is South Carolina). No there were there to play the game. Football is back at the
Lake Wylie Athletic Association Field.
Oh yeah and the Panthers have started training camp. I hope the get fire that my boys at LWAA have. If so
it could be a good year. On the other hand LWAA cut Jimmy Clausen just before the lockout ended.
